Candace Morgan
ACLU of Oregon Board Member, Candace Morgan, has dedicated her professional career and volunteer efforts to intellectual freedom. In addition to her work as a librarian, she has revived the ACLU of Oregon’s participation in Banned Books Week, creating the only state-wide effort in the nation that brings together libraries, bookstores, and non-profits to educate around the freedom to read.

Civil Liberties Award
For significant contributions to civil liberties and civil rights

Dr. Peter Goodwin
Dr. Goodwin has been a leader in Oregon’s Death with Dignity movement. He worked tirelessly to pass the Oregon Death with Dignity Act, from drafting the language of the law to leading a successful campaign to approve the petition, which became law in 1999. He has been instrumental in the implementation of the Act, serving as the medical director and as board member of Compassion & Choices Oregon.
