Staff

Executive Director
David Fidanque, on staff since 1982, is the chief spokesperson and press liaison for the ACLU of Oregon. Sets policy and direction for the ACLU of Oregon after consulting with the ACLU of Oregon Board of Directors and National ACLU policy. Oversees staff and volunteers and all programs, including Litigation, Legislation and Education.

Associate Director/Litigation Coordinator
Jann Carson, on staff since 1986, coordinates the Litigation Program. Assists Executive Director in overall administration and management of programs, staffing and volunteers.

Legal Director
Kevin Diaz joined the staff in May 2010 and directs the Litigation Program.

Legislative Director/Counsel
Andrea Meyer, on staff since 1999, directs the Legislative program, including lobbying and initiative work on local, state and national issues within Oregon.

Development Director
James K. Phelps, on staff since 2005, directs all aspects of membership and donor development and fund raising program.

Development Associate
Teresa Domka, on staff since 2006, is primarily responsible for the membership program. She assists with other functions of the development program.

Southern District Field Organizer
Claire Syrett joined the staff in 2006 and coordinates the work of chapter boards, members and volunteers in Oregon ACLU's Southern District. She focuses on engaging ACLU members and volunteers in educating and advocating on behalf of civil liberties and constitutional issues in their communities. She also works to increase local officials' and the public's understanding of civil liberties and constitutional protections.

Program Associate
Bonnie Souza, on staff since 1996, assists in Litigation, Legislation and Education programs in the ACLU of Oregon Southern District office. Her duties include an emphasis on race and multicultural issues related to both the external and internal work of the organization.

Fiscal Manager
Stephanie Van Zuiden, on staff since 1999, manages all fiscal transactions, financial reporting and annual audit reviews.
