Volunteers are the backbone of the ACLU. From volunteer attorneys and speakers, to people who help around the office or table at community events, volunteers make the ACLU’s work to protect and extend civil liberties and civil rights possible.
The ACLU of Oregon plans and executes many fundraising and community events throughout the year. If you are interested in helping with marketing and promotions and/or at events, or want to learn more about roles and responsibilities, please fill out our event volunteer interest form. You can also support the ACLU of Oregon by hosting a house party.
Please fill out our volunteer attorney interest form.
Virtually all of the ACLU's legal work is handled by cooperating attorneys. Cooperating attorneys assist with legal research, advocacy and litigation. They may also be asked to speak about civil liberties issues to schools, community groups and organizations across Oregon.
Law students should check the employment page for internship opportunities. All other interships are considered on a case by case basis and could focus in the areas of comminications, organizing, outreach, development, legal requests, legal research, office adminstration, and volunteer coordination. Interested people should submit a letter of interest and résumé in PDF format to firstname.lastname@example.org.
