April 7, 2010 – ACLU of Oregon testified before Portland City Council raising concerns about the City’s use of photo radar and red light cameras.

The Council approved renewing two 5-year contracts with Affiliated Computer Services for up to $7.5 million. Specifically, ACLU raised concerns about privacy and due process protections and whether the City is complying with Oregon law. We were pleased that Council asked questions ensuring privacy protections are in place and look forward to Council responding to our concern about the scope of photo radar vans outside of school and residential areas.
