This spring, the Trump administration secretly transferred 124 asylum seekers from the border to a federal prison in rural Oregon. Thanks to an emergency lawsuit and an outpouring of community support, Oregon is no longer holding detained immigrants at Sheridan prison.

Our field program is off to a strong start and, together, we achieved historic wins this election. With our activism we collectively tipped the scales towards inclusion and justice providing tremendous hope for Oregon and a much-needed alternate vision for our country.

Today we released new digital ads featuring immigrant Oregonians. They shared this powerful message about voting NO on Measure 105: "We all come from different places, but we are united by our values. We will not be divided."

Portland-based illustrator, designer, and activist Heldáy de la Cruz is returning to Uncensored as one of the featured artists for year two of the event, both creating a new poster that will benefit our civil rights work while helping other local artists get involved, too.

Last week, we sent letters to 61 Oregon cities and towns as part of a national effort coordinated by the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty, urging officials to repeal unconstitutional and misguided bans on panhandling in their jurisdictions. 

Why did the Oregon District Attorneys Association bring a guest speaker to their summer conference who has a long legacy of racially discriminatory policies and practices?

I hope other transgender students in Oregon know that they are not alone. I hope this lawsuit getting dropped means real progress and acceptance. I hope that other students like me feel empowered enough to speak up about the issues in their district.
