Report: ACLU of Oregon's 2026 Advocacy and Policy

Document Date: March 18, 2026

During the 2026 Oregon legislative session, our team and community fought with passion and deep conviction to strengthen privacy for patients and providers of abortion, reproductive, and gender-affirming health care, increase visibility and transparency in all law enforcement operations in Oregon, and worked to reduce the harms of surveillance technology, including automatic license plate readers, on our vulnerable communities.

We have so much to celebrate as the session closes and we have deep gratitude for our community, coalition partners, and everyone who advocated alongside us to create a more just, equitable, and caring Oregon.

In this report, we detail ACLU of Oregon's policy and advocacy priorities and victories, our work with some of Oregon's legislators and our community, and our thoughts on the work ahead.
