As a communications coordinator for the ACLU of Oregon, Amanda writes, creates and designs multimedia content to amplify, educate and engage with the vibrant communities of our beautiful state. A learner and educator at heart, Amanda earned her master of arts in teaching at Concordia University Portland, and has spent five years as an Oregon public elementary school teacher, immersing herself in the work of decolonizing educational spaces and providing equitable educational opportunities for all of her students and their families.

She brings this energy and desire for change to her work here at the ACLU of Oregon. In moments of rest and rejuvenation, she can be found tending to her many houseplants, journaling and writing, reading memoirs in her hammock while camping, and walking up and down the shoreline of the Oregon coast with her husband and her rescue dog, Luna.
