As Senior Counsel to the ACLU of Oregon, Daniel is committed to expanding the boundaries of equality, and fighting oppression in all forms.  His lived experience as a person with a physical disability fuels this passion.  Daniel has cerebral palsy and uses an electric wheelchair. As a child, he was one of the first students in his school district with a significant disability to be educated in a regular classroom. Daniel went on to earn his B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science from Wright State University, one of the premiere universities in the country for accommodating students with disabilities, and his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law.

Daniel brings extensive experience with the ACLU of Oregon to his current role with the organization.  He previously served on its Board of Directors, including a term as Vice President for Equity and Inclusion, and as a member of the ACLU of Oregon Lawyers Committee.  Daniel also served as a volunteer attorney for the organization, where he worked on both policy and litigation, including representing the ACLU of Oregon as amicus curiae in the Oregon Supreme Court.

Away from work, Daniel enjoys nurturing meaningful relationships with friends and family, listening to music and audiobooks, and exploring the natural beauty of northern Michigan, where he lives.
